About the event
Miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal, infant, or child loss can leave mothers feeling intense sadness and anger, a loss of hope for the future, and difficulty understanding how to grieve while moving forward with life. In a two-day workshop, mothers will engage in art-making and discussion with themes of grief, loss, bereavement, and hope. In this supportive group setting, mothers will create a woven wall hanging while processing thoughts, emotions, and behaviors related to the loss they have experienced and build connection with other mothers who have been through something similar. Mothers are welcome to bring an existing textile to integrate into their weaving project (crib sheet, onesie, other clothing, etc.), but this is not required. All materials needed to successfully complete this workshop will be provided. No previous art or weaving experience necessary.
